To treat the pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and urinary incontinence (SUI) in women, mesh insertion is one of the most common and preferred procedures in the U.S. Over 3.7 million meshes have been sold globally within 2005 and 2013 and the complications of surgical mesh procedures have remained a subject of legal debate since then.
